Hilary Maslon
Artist Statement
Originally from rural Minnesota, Hilary spent her teen-age years in Los Angeles, and from there, journeyed to Northern California where she attended the S.F. Art Institute, but acquired her BA through an independent studies division of New College of California.
In 1990 she moved to NYC. In NY she worked primarily as a scenic artist while painting and exhibiting and eventually acquiring an MFA at Queens College City University of NY.
In 2000, following her desire to see the stars again and know where her food came from, she bought land in N MS, ½ hour from Oxford, set up a cattle ranch and retreat center. After 10 years of living the duel life of Potts Camp/ NYC, she has now been living on her ranch full time since Jan. 2010.
