Artist Statement
My name is Anna Ryan, and I am an artist, teacher, and seeker of play! I teach art classes for children and lead expressive arts workshops for children and adults of all ages. I also have the pleasure of working one-on-one with individuals, offering personalized creative adventures. From acrylics to collage, I am continuously seeking moments of awe and wonder, exploring numerous materials and techniques to bring fresh energy into my work as well as into my classes. I am fueled by the fearless curiosity of children and the willingness of my students to express and communicate through art.
I received my Masters in Art Education at Tufts University and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. I have since been inspired by children and families all across the country: from the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, where I designed and taught museum-based workshops, to a therapeutic high school in Massachusetts where I created art curricula to connect my students to art, community and a deeper sense of personal strength. After becoming a mother, watching my own children's effortless and fearless creativity rekindled my passion and dedication to the creative process.
